When brothers, John and Peter Miers, went to New Zealand in 1976 they came back with more than they expected. This young and enterprising duo travelled abroad to ski and came back with skills in jewellery design.
It was a fellow skier who showed John and Peter the ropes. The Australian boys were hooked and a seed for the J & P Miers Jewellery Studio was planted.
Soon, the Miers boys developed their own style. And just as their Cootamundra based business began to blossom, John suffered an untimely death.
It was not long before Peter moved to the South Coast of New South Wales, and in 1986 opened a small studio in the village of Mogo. The business has grown and evolved over the years and gained substantial international recognition. Sadly, in 2004, Peter also suffered an untimely death. But the business continues to grow. Alison Miers continues the Miers brothers dream.
